"The Neighbors" - this is the title of the exhibition of hundred-plus photographs by Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko. TIGER has 10 years! It's been already the whole decade since at the initiative of Rector of Kozminski University, Professor Andrzej K. Kozminski, and Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko the Institute for Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research, TIGER, has started its activities. During all this time the Nobel Laureate, Professor Robert E. Mundell, serves as the Chairman of TIGER Scientific Council. The results of this 10-years period are remarkable: 120 TIGER Working Papers, 80 seminars, 20 ALK & TIGER Distinguished Lectures (including five with the participation of Nobel Prize Laureates), 18 books and monographs (including eight in English), and 14 international scientific conferences.

"Globalization, Crisis and What Next?" - this is the title of special conference organized on the occasion of 10 years of research activities of the Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research, TIGER. This time, in Hanoi, the Nhà xuất bản Thế giới (The Publishing House the WORLD), publishes the Vietnamese language version under the title "Thế giới đi về đâu?" ("Whither the World?"). The book (pages 624) has been translated by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thu.

Professor Kolodko's book "Wedrujacy swiat" ("Wandering World") drives continuously great interest both in Poland and worldwide. It's confirmed again by the numerous visit at the special website portal, the NAVIGATOR - www.wedrujacyswiat.pl. So far, since the book was published in April 2008 there had been as many as 72.627 visits from 92 countries.

Ryszard Michalski from Institute for Market, Consumption and Business Cycle Research, Warsaw Poland. In the Warsaw Economist House, at 49, Nowy Swiat Street, takes place a debate, organized by the Polish Economic Association (PTE), at which a new book, edited by Professor Elzbieta Maczynska and Professor Piotr Pysz, on "The Ordo Ideas and Social Market Economy" (in Polish) is presented. The book includes, inter alia, a chapter by Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko on "Social Market Economy - The Constitution and the Reality". In the panel discussion, which is moderated by Professor Pawel Kozlowski from The Economic Institute of Polish Academy of Sciences, participate also Professor Zdzislaw Sadowski and Professor Andrzej Szplit.

Professor Kolodko's book "Wedrujacy swiat" ("Wandering World") drives continuously great interest both in Poland and worldwide. It's confirmed again by the numerous visit at the special website portal, the NAVIGATOR - www.wedrujacyswiat.pl. Between 1st of January and 1st of April 2010 there had been as many as 2.138 visits from 25 countries. It's worth to mention that in the last two months over 50 tables, charts and maps have been updated. This dynamic statistical appendix, which - together with the blog www.wedrujacyswiat.pl/blog/ - is the core of NAVIGATOR, now presents the most recent information.

A high-level conference for journalists on economic policy in Europe takes place in Brussels. The conference is called "Exiting the Crisis. Europe 2020". The strategy for "Europe 2020", defining the EU's economic policy in the coming ten years, are the central theme of the conference. Some provisional information is available at www.ejc.net/europe2020. Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko presents the keynote speech on "Globalization, Crisis - and What Next?" In the audience will be 75 journalists from across the European Union.

Rykov Award in economics for scientific achievements for foreign scholars. The Prize has been awarded to the TIGER Director by the Russian State Economic and Trade University (RGTEU).

The TIGER Director, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has been nominated as the member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (Academie Europeenne des Sciences des arts et des Lettres). This eminent organization, affiliated with UNESCO, involves about 600 distinguished scholars and artists, including 60 Nobel Laureates, from 54 countries.

Two next issues of TIGER Working Papers have been published. Papers by prof. D. Mario Nuti, who is member of TIGER Scientific Advisory Board, titled "The Former Soviet Union after Dis-integration and Transition" and "Exit Strategies" are important contribution to the discussion on the evaluation of the Post-socialist transition and on contemporary financial crisis. We highly recommend these interesting papers.

The TIGER Director, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has become the member of Scientific Council of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies, FEPS. Mr. Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, the Danish politician, serves as the President of FEPS and Mr. Henri Nallet, the French diplomat and scholar chairs the Scientific Council. Professor Kolodko has been invited to join the FEPS Council as "well-known politician, who re-set the Polish economy twice as Poland's Deputy Prime Minister, a highly appreciated economist and professor and author of several significant publications". FEPS, which was created by the European Council and European Parliament in December 2007, embodies a new way of thinking on the progressive scene in Europe. The Foundation establishes an intellectual crossroad between social democracy and the European project, putting fresh thinking at the core of its action. As a platform for ideas, FEPS works in close collaboration with progressive organizations to tackle the challenges that Europe does face.
