The author, states, i.a.: “When I was studying at the University of Warsaw, the leading authorities of our university – as it happened – were the economists like Oskar Lange, Michał Kalecki, Czesław Bobrowski, Edward Lipiński, and in some respect Włodzimierz Brus. Their influence reached beyond the faculty of economics, and their statements were listened attentively, because economics touched upon fundamental political issues and there was such a belief that if the authorities listened to them, it would be better in Poland. And this belief was right, as it is right now that if the authorities listened to Grzegorz Kołodko, it would be better in Poland.”
