Polish) has been published by Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN". This is a
unique collective work, prepared under the direction of Professor
Elzbieta Maczynska, President of the Polish Economic Society, by a
group of 28 outstanding Polish economists. The book appears in
connection with the jubilee of Professor Kolodko.
the occasion of the jubilee of Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko, the
quarterly "Acta Oeconomica", a prestigious scientific journal with
impact factor, has published a special edition (Vol. 69, Special Issue
1). In previous years, only three special editions were published
devoted to the scientific achievements of such eminent economists as
John von Neumann, Nicholas Kaldor and Janos Kornai. In the group of 18
distinguished authors of published articles is the Nobel Prize laureate
in economic sciences, Edmund S. Phelps.
May 2019 The
Publishing House PWN has published a book edited by Grzegorz W. Kolodko
and Jacek Tomkiewicz entitled 'Strategy for Poland. A quarter of a
century later” (in Polish). This unique work, consisting of 472 pages,
was prepared by an eighteen-strong team of authors - theoreticians of
economics, finance and management as well as politicians and business

G. W. Kolodko has been invited to participate as a guest speaker in the
17th edition of the Rhodes Forum organized by The Dialogue of
Civilizations Research Institute on the Greek island of Rhodes. The
Economic Panel for this year is titled “Shared Economic Narratives”.
October 23-24, 2019 Due to outstanding research achievements the Academia Europaea
has to invited Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko to became its member. In
this noble group he is the only Polish economist. The TIGER Director
receives the nomination and delivers a speech during the 31st Plenary Conference of the Academy, which takes place in Barcelona under the slogan "Building Bridges 2019".
November 7-8, 2019 The
Institute of Social Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is organizing
an international conference entitled "Rethinking Asian Capitalism and
Society in the 21st Century: A Comparative Overview on 30 Years of
Vietnam's Achievements under Doi Moi and Challenges Ahead". On this
occasion, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko was invited to give a special
lecture on the theory of post-socialist transformation and to share
with participants his own experience from managing transition to the
market economy in Poland.

has endowed Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko the honorary award Kowadlo
Kuznicy in recognition of scientific achievements in the field of
economics, role in reforming the Polish economy and world authority in

The work contains 35 chapters and was prepared under the editorship of
Janina Pach, Katarzyna Kowalska and Paulina Szyja. The publisher
announces: "The economy of moderation – as a new paradigm – is promoted
by prof. Grzegorz W. Kolodko in his numerous publications. The book
makes an attempt to explain this phenomenon as well as is giving
answers to the question whether this concept is realistic and suitable
for implementation. The subject is very important and of great
interest, especially since we’re living in the times of severe crises,
the huge income inequalities, and increasing environmental

Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has been invited, as an architect of
Polish economic growth, to chair the panel on “Growth models and
policies” at the special conference on Nicholas Kaldor’s legacy in the
21st century. The conferemce, called „Economic Growth and Social
Equity”, is organized by the Department of Economic Policy of the
Corvinus University in Budapest in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert
Stiftung. Nicholas Kaldor, Cambridge economist, died 30 years ago. He
was born in Budapest, studied at the LSE, worked for the United Nations
Economic Commission for Europe, and advised the British labour
government on taxation and economic policy.

42 kilometers (26,1 miles)! This time in 4:45.59 he’s run Orlen Warsaw Marathon.
It’s worth to mention that the TIGER Director has initiated the Kozminski
Club and as many as five persons for our university – including three
researchers form TIGER, since dr. Jacek Tomkiewicz and dr. Marcin
Piatkowski – have reached the finish line at the National Stadium.

The 2013 year Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko concluded with running yet
one more marathon. This time distance of 26.2 miles he run in 4 hours
44 minutes and 24 seconds in Calderara di Reno near Bologna, Italy.

On the occasion of the 20-years of Kozminski University a special
international conference on „Management and Economic Policy for
Development” takes place. In the event, coordinated by Professor
G. W. Kolodko,
the TIGER Director, participates a group of distinguished scholars form
Poland and abroad, including the Nobel Prize Winner, Professor Edmund
S. Phelps from Columbia University.
Professor at TIGER - Dr. Małgorzata Runiewicz-Wardyn – undertakes a
postdoctoral research and teaching fellowship in the School of Slavonic
and East European Studies, University College London (UCL) in London at
the invitation of prof. Slavo Radosevic, Deputy Director of SSEES and a
professor of Industry and Innovation Studies. The fellowship will be
covered by ERASMUS Teaching Mobility Program. Her research and teaching
subject refers to the role of knowledge flows and regional innovation
systems (RIS) in technological change and economic growth of EU regions.
The Kozminski University Program in Finance advanced to global top 20
in the "Financial Times" Global Masters in Finance ranking. This degree
certified by the ACCA has a guarantee of higher income. 19th place in
the world, that is the position of Kozminski University Master Program
in Finance according to the new "Financial Times" ranking. Last year
the program ranked 21st in the world. The ranking, published on June
24th, 2013 includes the best European universities such as HEC Paris,
which took first place. In the process of evaluation "FT" analyzes the
level of quality of educational services, academic achievements of
faculty, student mobility, internship opportunities, the
internationalization of a university, even gender diversity of faculty
and students. One of the most important criterions is alumni careers

Korea. This is the first journey of TIGER Director to this
country. While there, he meets the economists from the Institute of Economics
of Academy of Social Sciences, the
policymakers and experts from the Disarmament and Peace Institute of
the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the representatives of the International
Association for the Promotion of Economy and Technical Exchange and
with the researchers from the Pyongyang University of Science and
Technology. In Pyongyang, at the onset of his visit, the former Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Poland delivers a special
address at the opening ceremony of local Poland’s presidency in the
group of ambassadors of the European Union countries. Professor Kolodko

marathon. This time in five hours he ran a beautiful route of 26,2
miles from Warsaw’s National Stadium to Wilanow and Konstancin, then
Ursynow and Mokotow, and via Downtown back to the National Stadium.
After all this was the National Running Day. Great party! The TIGER
Director was crossing the finish line with the wonderful company of his
two daughters, Julia and Gabi, and the latter little dog, Vegas, which
earlier have bravely run the distance of 10 kilometers. This marathon
is also Professor Kolodko’s respond for the barbaric attack on the
Boston Marathon earlier in the week…
