The newest work by Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko "Wędrujący świat" ("World on the Move") has made into the top of ranking list-the readers' hits of daily "Rzeczpospolita". What's more, as for the 13 greatest bestsellers ("the most eagerly bought economic books during last half a year", according to the paper claim), Professor Kolodko appears to be the one and only Polish author... At last something comes out from Poland and is not just imported into the country! On this occasion, Aleksandra Fandrejewska, the author of book review published in the newspaper, says: "This is a tale of both science and literature... extremely interesting reading... Grzegorz Kolodko has successfully shown how complicated are the links between various features and places and how seldom we do think about it." ("Rzeczpospolita", June 16th, 2008, p.B8).

Kolodko goes for a lonely travel to South America and the Carribean - from the mountains of Columbia and Orinoco river on Venezuela through the islands of Trinidad and Tobago to the rain forest of Guyana and Suriname. On September 10-13 the 18th Economic Forum on "European Dilemmas: Central Europe - an Active Partner or a Passive Spectator?" takes place in Krynica-Zdroj. In the main panel on the stance and perspectives of the world economy, together with Professor Edmund Phelps, the Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences in 2006, features Director of TIGER, Professor Grzegorz W. September 19-20, 2008
Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko participates in the international conference on income and wealth inequality issues. The meeting, under the title "Inequality in the West and in the World: Evidence and Mechanisms", is organized by the Department of Economics of University of Rome 'La Sapienza', and the TIGER Director speaks in the final roundtable debate looking for an answer to the question: "Is inequality in advanced countries and all over the world the same phenomenon?"
